14 Sandia National Lab employees pitched in $10 each to win 140 lottery tickets in December of 2000. And then they won the $131 million Powerball jackpot. According to the Associated Press this was the state's first win since it joined Powerball in 1996. Charles Tabet purchased the group's ticket at an Albuquerque Circle K, using the Quick Pick method. The winning numbers were 1-4-20-27-29 and Powerball 17.
