Rockefeller tree survived Sandy

The Christmas tree that now dominates New York's Rockefeller Center survived the winds of Superstorm Sandy that left a path of destruction in a New Jersey town.
Joseph Balku stands near his 80 ft. tall, 50 ft. diameter, 10-ton Norway Spruce tree at his home in Flanders, N.J., Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, as crews prepare to cut it down. The tree survived the winds of Superstorm Sandy that left a path of destruction in this New Jersey town and left Balku without electricity for weeks.
